Bengaluru businessman arrested for firing gunshots in air at birthday party

The Bengaluru wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a Bengaluru-based businessman after he fired celebratory shots from his gun during a birthday celebration.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, where the businessman, Syed Altaf Ahmad, can be seen firing six rounds of bullets in the air.
Police said that the incident took place at a scrap warehouse on Bannerghatta Road in the city during the birthday celebrations of one Moin Khan.
Several people made videos when Altaf was firing the gun and shared them on social media, which was later noticed by Bengaluru Police’s social media wing.
The police alerted Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas Gowda of the Crime Division-2 in the city.
The CCB registered an FIR and Altaf was arrested under the Arms Act, police said.
